Ball, Habegger Sweep GLIAC Field Athlete Of The Week Honors

Seniors Zac Ball and Kim Habegger have earned the latest Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors, released on Tuesday (April 21) morning.

Habegger's top hammer throw effort of 59.99 meters/196-feet-10 at the Walsh Invitational earned her automatic qualification for the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Nationals (May 21-23 in Allendale, Mich.). That mark is tops in the GLIAC and is third in Division II this spring.

Ball also turned in an NCAA nationals automatic distance at the Walsh Invite in the hammer throw at 65.88 meters/216-feet-2. That mark is third in both the GLIAC and Division II so far this spring.

Ashland University's outdoor track and field teams (men ranked No. 1 in Division II, women No. 10) will play host to their only home meet of the season on Friday (April 24) and Saturday (April 25), the Ashland Alumni Open.
