21 Eagles Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

Twenty-one Ashland University outdoor track and field athletes have earned 2015 NCAA Division II All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Junior Elijha Owens earned all-region distinction in four events – the 400-meter dash, the 110-meter high hurdles, the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and the 4x100-meter relay.

Four more AU athletes earned honors in two events – senior Drew Windle (800-meter run, 1,500-meter run), senior Jennifer Bjelac (long jump, heptathlon), senior Jessica Bridenthal (shot put, hammer) and junior Jamie Sindelar (shot put, discus).

Also earning all-region spots were senior Zac Ball (hammer throw), sophomore Bryn Campbell (hammer throw), senior Waquiem Comar (400-meter intermediate hurdles), sophomore Jordan Crayon (hammer throw), junior Brandon Freeman (4x100-meter relay), junior Nick Hall (1,500-meter run), senior Sam Shaffer (javelin throw), junior Eric Thompkins (4x100-meter relay), freshman Halen Witcher (4x100-meter relay), sophomore Jason Zahn (discus throw), freshman Hannah Bartlome (javelin throw), senior Jennifer Foster (high jump), senior Kim Habegger (hammer throw), senior Shatora Lewis (discus throw), freshman Irene Skinner (400-meter dash) and sophomore Megan Tomei (shot put).

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the all-region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.
