94 Eagle Student-Athletes Earn Spring GLIAC Academic Honors

Ninety-four Ashland University spring student-athletes earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference academic honors, as the conference's All-Academic Excellence and All-Academic lists were released on Tuesday (June 2).

Forty-seven Eagles earned a place on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams (cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better), while 47 Ashland student-athletes found a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic teams (cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.49).

Of the 47 Ashland All-Academic Excellence spring student-athletes, more than half (23) came from the women's outdoor track and field team. The men's outdoor track and field (14) and baseball (11) teams led the spring sports in All-Academic selections.

During the 2014-15 academic year, Ashland student-athletes earned 259 GLIAC academic awards – 124 All-Academic Excellence and 135 All-Academic.

The GLIAC as a whole had a total of 1,032 spring student-athletes achieve all-academic recognition, with 531 on the All-Academic Team and 501 on the All-Excellence list. Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the start of the season, not a freshman or a first-year transfer student.
