Eagles Earn Two New, Two Improved Provisional Marks At PSU

Ashland University's men's and women's indoor track and field teams earned two new and two improved provisional nationals-qualifying efforts on Friday (Jan. 29) at the Penn State National Invitational.

The new provisional marks were turned in by senior David Knack, who finished third in the 5,000-meter run (14:31.30), and senior Eric Thompkins, who turned in a time of 6.85 in the 60 dash prelims. 

Both junior Megan Tomei (17.87 meters/58-feet-7½ in the weight throw) and sophomore Haley Gregory (8.81 in the 60 hurdles preliminaries) posted improved provisional efforts.

The AU men and women will continue to split the weekend on Saturday (Jan. 30) at Penn State and the Findlay Classic.
