GLIAC Honors 82 AU Student-Athletes With Academic Honors

Eighty-two Ashland University winter student-athletes earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference academic honors, as the conference's 2015-16 All-Academic Excellence and All-Academic lists were released on Tuesday (Feb. 23).

Forty-two Eagles earned a place on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams (cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better), while 40 Ashland student-athletes found a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic teams (cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.49).

Of the 42 Ashland All-Academic Excellence winter student-athletes, more than half (23) came from the women's indoor track and field team. The men's indoor track and field team and wrestling team (10) each led the winter sports in All-Academic selections.

The GLIAC as a whole had a total of 811 winter student-athletes achieve all-academic recognition, with 381 on the All-Academic Team and 430 on the All-Excellence list. Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the start of the season, not a freshman or a first-year transfer student.
