Sixteen Eagles Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

Sixteen members of the Ashland University men's and women's indoor track and field teams have earned 2015-16 NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Senior Lauren Ellsworth earned three all-region distinctions in the 60-meter dash, 200 dash and 4x400 relay. Both junior Megan Tomei (shot put, weight throw) and sophomore Irene Skinner (400 dash, 4x400 relay) each earned two honors on the women's side.

Also earning all-region awards were sophomores Hannah Bartlome and Marie Hammer in the pentathlon, junior Marlecia Holston in the long jump, junior Tiarra Kick in the 4x400 relay, junior Rebecca Koval in the high jump, senior Jamie Sindelar in the shot put and senior Abby Strock in the 4x400 relay.

On the men's side, senior Eric Thompkins earned two regional honors in the 60 dash and 200 dash, while single region awards were picked up by juniors Bryn Campbell and Jordan Crayon in the weight throw, freshman Myles Pringle in the 400 dash, freshman Tyler Sievert in the 800 run and sophomore Elijah Talk in the shot put.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.

Those Eagles who earn entry will compete at the 2016 NCAA Division II indoor national championships, March 11-12 in Pittsburg, Kan.
