Ellsworth, Crayon Earn GLIAC Track, Field Honors

Ashland University's track and field program has dual Athletes of the Week, as senior Lauren Ellsworth and junior Jordan Crayon have earned this week's top honors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Ellsworth is this week's GLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week following a Northeast Ohio quad in which she provisionally qualified for NCAA Division II outdoor nationals in three events – the 100-meter dash (11.71 seconds), the 200 dash (24.31) and as a member of the 4x100 relay (46.76).

Crayon is the latest GLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after placing second in Akron in the hammer throw at 66.21 meters/217-feet-3 – slightly shorter than his No. 2-ranked season-best toss of 66.88 meters/219-feet-5.

Ashland's men and women will split up for their next weekend of action, going to both the Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic in Columbus and the Sparky Adams Invitational in Berea on Friday (April 22) and Saturday (April 23).
