For the second time outdoors and the fourth time in all of 2015-16, Ashland University senior Jamie Sindelar is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Sindelar improved on her Division II-leading distance in the women's shot put at the Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic, posting a top mark of 16.47 meters/54-feet-0½. That distance leads the country by 0.77 meters/2-feet-6¼, and would rank No. 23 in Division I.
Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will compete at home on Friday (April 29) and Saturday (April 30), as the seventh Ashland Alumni Open will take place at the Ferguson Field complex.
