Fourteen Eagles Earn 2015-16 USTFCCCA Academic Awards

Fourteen Ashland University track and field student-athletes have earned 2015-16 academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Eleven AU women landed spots on the USTFCCCA All­-Academic Track and Field Team – seniors Kylee Bernthisel, Lauren Ellsworth, Jamie Sindelar and Abby Strock; juniors Jackie Genetin, Marlecia Holston, Tiarra Kick and Nuri Lee; sophomores Haley Gregory and Marie Hammer, and redshirt freshman Mackenzie Leigh.

The three Eagle men who earned academic awards were seniors Zac Papay and Eric Thompkins, and freshman Tyler Sievert.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-­Academic Track and Field Team, a student-­athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
