Three Ashland University track and field standouts have earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference indoor weekly honors.

Sophomore Myles Pringle (men's track), junior Daniel Roberts (men's field) and senior Megan Tomei (women's field) all earned conference honors on Monday (Dec. 12) afternoon for their efforts at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala on Friday (Dec. 9) and Saturday (Dec. 10).

Pringle turned in the third-best NCAA Division II indoor time in history in the 400-meter dash at 46.11 seconds, while also winning the high jump in 2.17 meters/7-feet-1.5 – both marks being new Ashland indoor school records. Pringle automatically qualified for 2017 D-II indoor nationals in both events, while also being part of the provisional-qualifying 4x400 relay team which finished in 3:14.32.

Pringle has the nation's top 400 and high jump marks in the early part of the 2016-17 season, and his 400 time would be leading NCAA Division I this season by 1.25 seconds.

Roberts, in his first action as an Eagle, automatically qualified for nationals in the weight throw with a top mark of 20.99 meters/68-feet-10.5, and provisionally qualified in the shot put at 16.41 meters/53-feet-10.25. He has the top weight throw mark in D-II so far, and the 15th-best shot put mark.

Tomei automatically qualified for indoor nationals in the shot put with a top distance of 15.77 meters/51-feet-9, while also provisionally qualifying for the weight throw at 18.62 meters/51-feet-1.25. She has the top shot put mark in the country and the sixth-best weight throw distance in Division II.
