In the second set of 2016-17 regular-season indoor track and field rankings by the U.S. Track & Field And Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), released on Tuesday (Jan. 31) afternoon, Ashland University's men remain the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II, while the Eagle women are slotted at No. 14.

Ashland's men are the top-ranked indoor team in D-II for the third time this decade. They are in the top five in the USTFCCCA rankings for the 46th time since the start of the 2009-10 indoor season.

The Eagle men boast eight marks that rank in the top five in the country in their respective events, including the best marks in D-II from sophomore Myles Pringle in the 400-meter dash (46.11) and the high jump (2.17 meters/7-feet-1.5), and junior Daniel Roberts in the weight throw (22.20 meters/72-feet-10).

The Eagle women have been no worse than 15th in 57 indoor rankings since the start of 2009-10. Senior Megan Tomei ranks second in the nation in the shot put (15.91 meters/52-feet-2.5) and fourth in the weight throw (20.21 meters/66-feet-3.75).

The Ashland men and women will look to improve upon five automatic and 30 provisional marks for 2017 indoor nationals at the two-day Akron Invitational on Friday (Feb. 3) and Saturday (Feb. 4).
