The weekly awards for Ashland University's men's indoor track and field team keep coming in, as Eagle senior thrower Jordan Crayon was named the Week 7 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday (Feb. 7) morning.

On Saturday (Feb. 4) at the Akron Invitational, Crayon finished third in the men's weight throw Gold division, with a top mark of 20.86 meters/68-feet-5.25. The two throwers who finished ahead of him were from the University of Michigan.

Crayon's mark on Saturday is second in NCAA Division II and in the GLIAC this season, trailing only teammate Daniel Roberts (22.20 meters/72-feet-10).

Of the seven weeks of action in 2016-17, Ashland athletes have earned GLIAC men's field Athlete of the Week five times – Roberts in Weeks 2, 3 and 6, Elijah Talk in Week 4 and Crayon in Week 7.

The No. 1-ranked Eagle men and No. 14-ranked AU women will split up and go to the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday (Feb. 10) and the Tiffin Open on Saturday (Feb. 11).
