After its big weekend at the GVSU Big Meet, there was little doubt Ashland University's men's indoor track and field team would retain its No. 1 ranking for the fourth week in a row.

The Eagle men did just that in the latest U.S. Track & Field And Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings, released on Tuesday (Feb. 14) afternoon. Ashland has 211.44 computer points, a little more eight points higher than a week ago, and its lead over No. 2 Adams State is roughly 22 computer points.

Ashland's men are the top-ranked NCAA Division II indoor team for the fifth time this decade. They are in the Top 5 in the country for the 48th time since the start of the 2009-10 campaign.

Through Feb. 12, Ashland's men boast several top-five national spots in various events:

- Junior Daniel Roberts, 1st, weight throw (22.20 meters/72-feet-10)

- Senior Jordan Crayon, 2nd, weight throw (20.86 meters/68-feet-5¼)

- Freshman Alex Hill, 5th, weight throw (20.36 meters/66-feet-9¾)

The Eagle women have been no worse than 15th in 59 indoor rankings since the start of 2009-10. Senior Megan Tomei is ranked No. 2 in the country in the shot put (15.91 meters/52-feet-2½) and No. 4 in the weight throw (20.21 meters/66-feet-3¾).
