21 Eagle Men, Women Earn USTFCCCA Region Honors

Twenty-one members of the Ashland University men's and women's indoor track and field teams earned All-Midwest Region recognition on Monday (Feb. 27) from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

On the men's side, sophomore Myles Pringle earned four distinctions – the 200-meter dash, 400 dash, 4x400 relay and high jump. Senior Nick Hall (mile run, distance medley relay), freshman Paul Murray (4x400 relay, DMR) and sophomore Devin Snowden (60 hurdles, 4x400 relay) each earned two citations.

Landing a spot each were seniors Bryn Campbell and Jordan Crayon in the weight throw, junior Hunter Heaton in the DMR, freshman Alex Hill in the weight throw, senior Columbus Millet in the 4x400 relay, junior Daniel Roberts in the weight throw, sophomore Tyler Sievert in the DMR, junior Elijah Talk in the shot put, sophomore Brandon Wilson in the 60 dash and senior Jason Zahn in the shot put.

A pair of AU women earned two region awards each – junior Haley Gregory in the 60 dash and 60 hurdles and senior Megan Tomei in the shot put and weight throw.

One region honor each were earned by sophomore Samantha Duale in the 60 dash, junior Marie Hammer in the pentathlon, freshman Amber Otermat in the pole vault, sophomore Tiffany Pryce in the pentathlon and freshman Paula Wollenslegel in the high jump.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams. A total of 1,065 athletes – 572 men and 493 women – earned All-Region honors.
