Following his school-record performance in the 400-meter dash on Friday (March 24) at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C., Ashland University sophomore Myles Pringle has earned his second top award of the week.

One day after landing Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's track Athlete of the Week, Pringle was named the NCAA Division II men's National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday (March 28) morning.

Pringle set a new school record in the 400 by winning in 45.99 seconds. That also is the top mark so far in NCAA Division II, and automatically qualified Pringle for 2017 outdoor nationals, May 25-27 in Bradenton, Fla. Pringle's time also was the fastest collegiate mark in the country at any level over the weekend, and is faster than any of the NCAA Division I leaders to date.

Ashland's men and women will compete on Saturday (April 1) at the Miami (Ohio) Duals.
