It was quite a leap in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings for Ashland University's men's outdoor track and field team on Tuesday (March 28) afternoon.

The Eagle men went from not ranked in the first poll of the season to No. 2 in the country on Tuesday, thanks in large measure to two automatic and 10 provisional marks for 2017 NCAA Division II nationals, May 25-27 in Bradenton, Fla.

Ashland has 164.76 computer points, trailing only top-ranked Chico State (180.35).

The Eagle men boast two nation-leading efforts through their first week of outdoor competition – sophomore Myles Pringle in the 400-meter dash (45.99) and junior Daniel Roberts in the hammer throw (67.97 meters/223-feet-0).

Ashland's men and women will compete on Saturday (April 1) at the Miami (Ohio) Duals.
