Eagle Men, Women Earn 15 USTFCCCA All-America Honors

Ashland University's men and women earned a combined 15 All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday (May 30) morning, based on their finishes at the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Bradenton, Fla.

Leading the way for the Ashland men, who finished in a tie for third place as a team, were sophomore Myles Pringle and junior Daniel Roberts, who won national titles in the 400-meter dash and the hammer throw, respectively. Each earned two first-team All-America honors – Pringle in the 400 and 4x100 relay, and Roberts in the hammer and the discus.

Eagle men earning first-team All-America status include senior Bryn Campbell (hammer), senior Jordan Crayon (hammer), senior Brandon Freeman (4x100 relay), sophomore Devin Snowden (4x100 relay), junior Elijah Talk (shot put), sophomore Brandon Wilson (4x100 relay) and senior Jason Zahn (discus).

Representing the Ashland women's team in garnering first-team All-America honors is junior Hannah Bartlome in the high jump.

Pringle (high jump) and freshman Nick Zak (hammer) are second-team All-Americas on the men's side, as is sophomore Natalie Helenthal (hammer) on the women's side.

Student-athletes earn first-team USTFCCCA All-America status by finishing among the top 8 in their events, including as a member of a relay team. Second-team honors are earned by finishing 9th-12th in individual events, as well as finishing ninth or 10th as a member of a relay team.
