Ashland University head men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field head coach Jud Logan has announced the hire of former Ashland University All-American Abby Majesky as the program's jumps and multi-events assistant coach.

"When Abby graduated, I told her if my jumps/multi position ever became available, I would be calling," Logan said. "The timing never worked out until now. Having someone tradition-based that knows what I want and can bring continued success to that area was crucial in my hiring her.

"Our program is fortunate that she was available, and she will provide instant stability and a fresh outlook to our student/athletes."

Majesky brings impressive credentials from her time as an Eagle, including an indoor high jump national championship in 2010 (5-feet-9¾). She was a seven-time All-American at Ashland – five times combined indoors and outdoors in the high jump, once indoors in the pentathlon and once outdoors in the heptathlon.

In 2011, Majesky was the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's Midwest Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Women's Field Athlete of the Meet.

In addition to her track and field exploits, Majesky also played on the women's basketball team during her freshman year, seeing action in 24 games and averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Majesky is married to Malcolm Majesky, Ashland's Strength & Conditioning Coach.
