Heading into a dual-meet weekend, Ashland University's men's indoor track and field team is ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division II.

In the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II rankings, released on Tuesday (Feb. 6) afternoon, the Eagle men moved down one spot from No. 3. Ashland's men had been the No. 3-ranked team in the nation in the preseason poll and each of the first two regular-season polls.

Tuesday's rankings had the Eagles with 124.75 points, trailing only No. 1 Colorado Mines (207.85), No. 2 Grand Valley State (144.56) and No. 3 Tiffin (140.48).

Ashland's men have eight marks which would qualify for 2018 D-II indoor nationals, March 9-10 at Pittsburg State. Both junior Myles Pringle (46.42 seconds in the 400-meter dash) and sophomore Alex Hill (21.42 meters/70-feet-3½ in the weight throw) are the top-ranked athletes in their respective events, while Pringle is No. 2 in the nation in both the 200 dash (21.46 seconds) and the high jump (2.15 meters/7-feet-0½).

Indoors since 2010, the Eagle men have been in the top five in the USTFCCCA rankings 55 times.

Ashland's men and women will compete on Friday (Feb. 9) at the Grand Valley State Big Meet and on Saturday (Feb. 10) at the Kent State Qualifier.
