The Week 6 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II rankings were released on Tuesday (Feb. 27) afternoon, and both of Ashland University's indoor teams are in the Top 25.

Ashland's men move down one spot to No. 6 in the latest rankings, while the Eagle women return to the Top 25 at No. 22. The two AU squads are coming off the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, and will find out officially who will go to 2018 indoor nationals, March 9-10 at Pittsburg State, on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Eagle men have been ranked no lower than sixth all season – third three times, sixth twice, and fourth and fifth once. Ashland's women return to the Top 25 for the first time since Week 1, when they were 14th. The Eagle women also were 25th in the preseason rankings.

Since the start of the 2009-10 season, Ashland's men have been in the top six in the USTFCCCA rankings 59 times, and the AU women have been in the Top 25 65 times.

The top-ranked Ashland athletes heading into indoor nationals are junior Myles Pringle (first in the 400-meter dash, 46.42 seconds; first in the high jump, 2.18 meters/7-feet-1¾), sophomore Alex Hill (first in the weight throw, 22.49 meters/73-feet-9½) and freshman Brent Fairbanks (second in the weight throw, 22.16 meters/72-feet-8½) on the men's side, and junior Natalie Helenthal (fifth in the weight throw, 19.65 meters/64-feet-5¾) on the women's side.
