Pringle, Hill Earn USTFCCCA Regional Honors

Two Ashland University men's indoor track and field standouts – junior Myles Pringle and sophomore Alex Hill – garnered top Midwest Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday (March 5) afternoon.

For the second year in a row, Pringle has earned Men's Midwest Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year honors. He is ranked first nationally in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.42 seconds and in the high jump at 2.18 meters/7-feet-1 3/4, and fifth nationally in the 200 dash with a time of 21.32 seconds. He will compete at NCAA Division II indoor nationals, Friday (March 9) and Saturday (March 10) at Pittsburg State, in the 200, 400, high jump and the 4x400 relay.

Hill is Ashland's first Men's Midwest Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year since Ryan Loughney (2011-12). He is ranked first nationally in the weight throw with a mark of 22.49 meters/73-feet-9¼, which is the third-best mark in D-II history. He is undefeated against collegiate competition, and helped the Eagles earn the No. 1 USTFCCCA Squad Ranking in the event across all divisions.

Hill will compete at indoor nationals in the weight throw on Friday afternoon.
