Nine Ashland University indoor track and field athletes have been named 2018 NCAA Division II indoor All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Junior Myles Pringle led the Eagle contingent with four first-team All-American honors in the 400-meter dash, 200 dash, 4x400 relay and high jump. During the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kan., Pringle became the fastest ever in the D-II indoor men's 400 at 45.93 seconds.

Ashland men achieving first-team All-American status were freshmen Brenden Archer, Trevor Bassitt and Channing Phillips in the 4x400 relay, sophomore Alex Hill in the weight throw and senior Elijah Talk in the shot put.

Juniors Natalie Helenthal and Mackenzie Leigh each gained first-team All-American laurels in the women's weight throw.

Freshman Brent Fairbanks is a second-team All-American in the men's weight throw.

Student-athletes earned first-team All-American honors by virtue of finishing among the top eight in their events, including as a member of a relay, at this past weekend's nationals. Second-team All-American honors are for those who finished ninth-16th in their individual events, or on a relay team that finished ninth or 10th.
