Bartlome, Smith Earn Individual Titles On Wooster Day 1

A small lineup of Ashland University men's and women's outdoor track and field athletes competed on Day 1 of the Wooster Invitational on Friday (March 30), but the Eagles did come away with two first-place finishes and a second-place showing, all on the women's side.

Senior Hannah Bartlome won the women's high jump with a top effort of 1.64 meters/5-feet-4½, and freshman Romi Smith earned top honors in the women's javelin throw at 35.37 meters/116-feet-0.

Sophomore Paula Wollenslegel was right behind Bartlome in the women's high jump, placing second at 1.61 meters/5-feet-3¼.
