Eagle Men, Women Compete In Day 2 At Wooster

Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams concluded action at the Wooster Invitational on Saturday (March 31).

On the field side, sophomore Amber Otermat won the women's pole vault with a top effort of 3.35 meters/10-feet-11¾, while junior Jacob Bon was victorious in the men's triple jump at 12.87 meters/42-feet-2¾.

On the track, sophomore Paul Murray won the men's 400-meter dash in 49.59 seconds, senior William Robinson was first in the men's 400 hurdles, and the 4x400 relay team of senior Ryan VanCauwenbergh, freshmen Jake Hall and Sam Shockey and junior Tyler Sievert came across first in 3:26.70.

Second-place finishes were turned in by freshman Gabrielle Ewing in the women's pole vault (3.20 meters/10-feet-6), junior Jacob Sprague in the men's pole vault (4.44 meters/14-feet-6¾), Bon in the men's long jump (6.63 meters/21-feet-9), Sievert in the men's 1,500 run (4:07.70), sophomore Arthur Greenlee IV in the men's 110 hurdles (14.80 seconds), freshman Angel Frye in the women's 100 dash (12.73 seconds), freshman Ian Johnson in the men's 800 run (1:59.29) and freshman Travis Moore in the men's 400 hurdles (55.67 seconds).

Taking thirds were Frye in the women's pole vault (3.05 meters/10-feet-0), Johnson in the men's 1,500 run (4:08.27), Moore in the men's 110 hurdles (15.76 seconds) and senior Lydia Ott in the women's 400 dash (1:01.40).
