The official 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships competitors list will be revealed on Tuesday (May 15) at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com.

On Sunday (May 13) at the Mount Olive Final Qualifier, Ashland's men's 4x400-meter relay team and sophomores Arthur Greenlee IV and Gariana Bercheni turned in their best performances of the spring in their last opportunities to get on that list.

In the final event of the day on Sunday, the men's 4x4 quartet of freshmen T.J. Elliott, Trevor Bassitt and Channing Phillips, and junior Myles Pringle, turned in a time of 3:09.90, shaving the Ashland top relay's time of 2018 down by more than three seconds (3:13.18). That would move the Eagles from 32nd nationally to eighth, provided no other last-chance times nationally on Sunday were better.

Entering Sunday, Greenlee's top 110 hurdles time in 2018 was 14.33 seconds, accomplished at home at the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. On Sunday, Greenlee sliced that time down to a career-best 14.10 seconds.

Coming into Sunday, Greenlee was tied for 25th in Division II in the event. His new time would vault him into a tie for 15th, if no other last-chance times moved him down the list.

Also on Sunday in the women's 200 dash, Bercheni moved her career-best time of 24.35 seconds, also at the 2018 GLIAC Championships, down to 24.10 seconds. Bercheni was 37th in the nation in the event coming into Sunday, but, if no other times at the top of the national list change, she moves into a tie for 18th.

From the pre-championships manual, "Eligible student-athletes meeting a provisional standard will be placed on a descending-order list for each event. Once student-athletes who achieved automatic standards have been entered into the championships, the national committee will select student-athletes from the declared descending-order list to fill the fields to their desired minimum field sizes of 20 for individual events, 16 for combined events and 14 for relays. In order to control field sizes and the length of the championships, the committee has implemented maximum field sizes of 24 for individual events, 18 for relays and 16 for combined events. Ties will be broken at the next position to be selected."
