The list of nationals marks for the No. 1-ranked Ashland University men's indoor track and field team grew by impressive leaps and bounds on Saturday (Jan. 26) at the Penn Nationals.

On Saturday, the Eagle men turned in an improved automatic, an improved provisional and three new provisional marks for 2019 NCAA Division II indoor nationals, March 8-9 at Pittsburg State, Kan. Of those marks, all but one was recorded by the sprints crew.

Freshman Keshun Jones got things started in the men's 200-meter dash, winning the event with a new provisional time of 21.62 seconds. Jones became the fifth Eagle men's sprinter to provo in the 200 dash so far this winter.

In the men's 400 dash invite event, senior Myles Pringle improved upon his previous automatic mark with a winning time of 46.12 seconds. Sophomore Trevor Bassitt was fourth with a new provo of 47.61 seconds – making him the fourth AU men's sprinter to provo in the 400.

To end the meet, the men's 4x400 relay team of sophomore Channing Phillips, Pringle, freshman Brayden Chaney and Jones crossed the finish line with a new provo time of 3:12.97 – beating several NCAA Division I teams in the process.

Finally, in the throws, junior Jake Glass placed seventh in the men's shot put with an improved provisional distance of 16.93 meters/55-feet-6½.
