Eagle Men, Women Add To National Marks Tallies

Ashland University's men's and women's indoor track and field teams, ranked No. 1 and 11 in NCAA Division II, respectively, added three more nationals marks on Saturday (Feb. 2) at Akron and in Kentucky.

At the Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial, the men's 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Keshun Kones, sophomores Trevor Bassitt and Channing Phillips, and senior Myles Pringle placed fifth in a new nationals provisional time of 3:13.61. At the 15th Annual Akron Invitational, redshirt freshman Taylor Kroll placed second and improved upon her previous provisional distance in the women's weight throw at 17.24 meters, while in the women's shot put, redshirt freshman Elizabeth Weimer was seventh with a new provisional toss of 13.74 meters/45-feet-1.

Winning their respective events at Akron on Saturday were junior Paul Murray in the men's 800 run (1:56.19) and senior Tiffany Pryce in the womens 800 run (2:15.51). Runner-up finishes were turned in by freshman Brayden Chaney in the men's 400 dash (48.84 seconds) and freshman Tim Rumas in the men's 200 dash (21.77 seconds).

Akron third-place finishes were turned in by freshman Storm Elsesser in the men's triple jump (12.74 meters/41-feet-9¾), sophomore Nick Reimund in the men's 3,000 run (9:03.16), sophomore Madeline Kreller in the women's 400 dash (58.33 seconds), junior Ellie Jindra in the women's high jump (1.65 meters/5-feet-5), sophomore David Amstutz in the men's shot put (16.76 meters/55-feet-0), and senior Samantha Duale in the women's 60 dash (7.73 seconds).

Also at Kentucky, Pringle won the men's 400 dash in 46.45 seconds.
