Eagle Men, Women Stay Put In Latest USTFCCCA Rankings

Both of Ashland University's indoor track and field teams are staying in place in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) computer rankings.

As released on Tuesday (Feb. 12) afternoon, the Eagle men and women remain at No. 2 and 9 in the nation, respectively. Ashland's men have 162.53 computer points, trailing only No. 1 Adams State (209.60), and well ahead of No. 3 Grand Valley State (135.71) and No. 4 Tiffin (117.86).

The majority of Ashland's men's points come from seven spots – senior Myles Pringle in the high jump (20.98) and 400-meter dash (18.60), sophomore Trevor Bassitt in the 60 hurdles (20.63) and 200 dash (19.72), and three weight throwers in sophomore Brent Fairbanks (24.71) and juniors Alex Hill (21.14) and Nick Zak (17.89).

On the women's side, the two top AU individuals in terms of computer points are redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker in the shot put (24.67) and senior Natalie Helenthal (20.64).

Ashland University's men and women will finish the indoor regular season on Friday (Feb. 15) at Ohio State and Saturday (Feb. 16) at Kent State.
