Three members of Ashland University's "Fab Five" did some showing off on Friday (Feb. 15) at the Ohio State Buckeye Tune Up.

In the next-to-last competition of the regular season, a trio of female redshirt freshman throwers turned in noteworthy efforts in Columbus. Two of those – Carrol Pauley and Elizabeth Weimer – moved up the provisional list for NCAA Division II indoor nationals, March 8-9 at Pittsburg State (Kan.).

At the Division I-dominated meet, Pauley was seventh in the women's weight throw with a top mark of 17.39 meters, while Weimer was 11th in the women's shot put at 13.85 meters/45-feet-5¼.

Lindsay Baker, already assured of being at nationals in the women's shot put, finished second in the event on Friday at 16.47 meters/54-feet-0½.

Ashland's men, ranked No. 2 in the nation, and women, ranked No. 9, will finish up the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 16) at the Kent State Tune-Up. The 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships will be Feb. 23-24 at Saginaw Valley State.
