The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) doled out quite a bit of praise to Ashland University's men's and women's indoor track and field teams on Tuesday (Feb. 26) afternoon.
In the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II computer rankings, the Eagle men maintain their spot at No. 2 in the country, while the Eagle women move up a spot to No. 9. Ashland's men have 144.71 computer points, trailing only Adams State (194.95), and out-pacing No. 3 Tiffin (113.61), No. 4 Central Missouri (105.03) and No. 5 Grand Valley State (103.45).
Three Eagle men's events with the top point marks heading into 2019 NCAA Division II indoor nationals, March 8-9 at Pittsburg State (Kan.), are sophomore Brent Fairbanks in the weight throw (24.72), and senior Myles Pringle in the 400-meter dash (23.19) and high jump (20.90).
On the women's side, the top three point-earners are redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker in the shot put (24.38), senior Natalie Helenthal in the weight throw (18.12) and junior Ellie Jindra in the high jump (17.96).
