Ashland University's outdoor track and field teams continue to pile up Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference weekly awards.

As announced by the GLIAC on Tuesday (April 9) morning, senior Myles Pringle (Men's Track), junior Alex Hill (Men's Field) and redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker (Women's Field) are among the Week 3 GLIAC Athletes of the Week. Hill and Baker performed over the weekend at the Northeast Ohio Quad, while Pringle competed at the Sun Angel Track Classic in Tempe, Ariz.

Pringle, in his first outdoor outing of the season, won the men's 400-meter dash in Tempe in a NCAA Division II-leading time of 45.62 seconds. That time also would be No. 3 in NCAA Division I this spring, and is the fifth-best men's 400 outdoor time in the world in 2019.

Baker was impressive in three throwing events at the Quad, winning the women's shot put (16.41 meters/53-feet-10¼), finishing second in the women's discus throw (50.54 meters/165-feet-10) and placing third in the women's hammer throw (58.04 meters/190-feet-5). Baker is ranked No. 1 in the country in the shot, No. 4 in the hammer and No. 8 in the discus.

Also at the Quad, Hill won the men's hammer at 65.91 meters/216-feet-3, and was second in the men's discus at 52.66 meters/172-feet-9. Hill is the No. 3-ranked hammer thrower in D-II, and is No. 9 in the discus.

This is Pringle's 13th all-time GLIAC weekly award, Hill's seventh and Baker's third.

Ashland athletes have earned seven of 12 GLIAC outdoor awards so far in 2019.

The Eagle men and women will compete at two events this week – the Tennessee Relays on Thursday-Saturday (April 11-13) and the Walsh Invitational on Saturday.
