An impressive weekend at both the Northeast Ohio Quad and the Sun Angel Classic (Tempe, Ariz.) has moved Ashland University's outdoor track and field teams up the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings, released on Tuesday (April 9) afternoon.

The Eagle men have climbed 14 spots to No. 7 in the country, while the AU women have moved up four spots to No. 12, in the USTFCCCA Track & Field Rating Index. For the Ashland men, it is their highest ranking outdoors so far this season, coming off an NCAA Division II indoor national title in March.

Leading the men's scoring so far this season are senior Myles Pringle in the 400-meter dash (25.90 points) and junior Alex Hill in the hammer throw (21.67), while the top women's point-earners are redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker in the shot put (25.19) and senior Mackenzie Leigh in the hammer (19.45).

Weekly USTFCCCA computer rankings will continue each Tuesday through May 14, then a pre-nationals ranking will come out on May 20. The 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships will be May 23-25 in Kingsville, Texas.

Ashland's men and women will go to three events this weekend – the Tennessee Relays on Thursday-Saturday (April 11-13), the Walsh Invitational on Saturday and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday (April 14).
