For their efforts last week at the Tennessee Relays, Ashland University sophomore Trevor Bassitt is the outdoor Week 4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week, and AU junior Ellie Jindra is the outdoor Week 4 GLIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

As announced by the conference on Tuesday (April 16) morning, Bassitt earned his fourth GLIAC weekly honor all-time, and his third in 2018-19, and Jindra her first.

In Knoxville, Bassitt won the men's 400-meter hurdles in a predominantly-NCAA Division I field in 51.94 seconds, and finished fourth in the men's 110 hurdles in a wind-aided 13.88 seconds. So far this spring, Bassitt is the No. 3-ranked men's 400 hurdler, and the No. 8-ranked men's 110 hurdler (14.18 seconds) in NCAA Division II.

Also in a mostly-D-I field, Jindra took fifth in the women's high jump with a top effort of 1.73 meters/5-feet-8. That mark puts Jindra in a tie for fifth place in the country, and is two centimeters away from her outdoor PR in the high jump.

Ashland's men, ranked No. 7 in the country, and women, ranked No. 12, will play host to the 10th Ashland Alumni Open on Friday and Saturday (April 19-20) at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex.
