Eagle Men No. 9, Women No. 10 In D-II Going Into Alumni Open

In the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II national rating index, released on Tuesday (April 16) afternoon, Ashland University's men's outdoor team is No. 9, while the Eagle women's outdoor team is No. 10.

On the men's side, Ashland has 97.70 computer points. Leading the way as individuals are senior Myles Pringle in the 400-meter dash (25.64), sophomore Trevor Bassitt in the 400 hurdles (18.38) and junior Alex Hill in the hammer throw (16.93).

The Eagle women have compiled 90.18 computer points, paced by redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker in the shot put (25.64) and hammer throw (16.67), senior Mackenzie Leigh in the hammer (19.83) and junior Ellie Jindra in the high jump (13.48).

This is the first time in the 2019 outdoor season that both Ashland track and field teams are ranked in the top 10 in the nation.

Ashland's men and women will play host to the 10th Ashland Alumni Open on Friday and Saturday (April 19-20) at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex.
