Eagles Earn Five Nationals Marks To Close Owens Relays

On the second and final day of Ohio State's Jesse Owens Relays on Saturday (April 27), Ashland University's outdoor track and field teams combined for five nationals marks on the road to the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, May 23-25 in Kingsville, Texas.

In the men's high jump, senior Myles Pringle improved upon his previous provisional, finishing second at 2.13 meters/6-feet-11¾; junior Nick Zak took third in the men's shot put college open division with an improved mark of 17.02 meters/55-feet-10¼, and junior Alex Hill was fifth in the men's discus throw college open championship with an improvement to 53.15 meters/174-feet-4.

Senior Tiffany Pryce earned a new provisional time in the women's 800-meter run college open, placing 11th in 2:11.02, while in the men's pole vault, freshman Adam Keller earned a new provo distance of 4.81 meters/15-feet-9¼.

Junior Jake Glass finished second in the men's shot put college open (17.09 meters/56-feet-1), sophomore Jared Ryder took third in the men's triple jump college open (14.43 meters/47-feet-4¼), sophomore Trevor Bassitt was third in the men's 110 hurdles college open (14.10 seconds), and the AU men's 400 relay team took third in 40.82 seconds.

Ashland's men, ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II, and women, ranked No. 9, will compete at the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, Wednesday-Friday (May 1-3) at Grand Valley State.
