LINK - 2019 WEEK 9 D-II USTFCCCA COMPUTER RANKINGS
There was no change for Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II national rating index, released on Tuesday (May 14) afternoon.
For the second consecutive week, the Eagle men are No. 6 in the nation, while the AU women are No. 12. The official announcement of the field for the 2019 NCAA Division II Championships, May 23-25 in Kingsville, Texas, will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com, and the USTFCCCA will put out a final pre-nationals ranking on Monday (May 20).
Ashland's men have 130.47 computer points this week, with the bulk of those being earned by senior Myles Pringle in the 400-meter dash (24.28), sophomore Trevor Bassitt in the 400 hurdles (20.45) and 110 hurdles (18.17), the 4x400 relay team of Pringle, Bassitt, sophomore Channing Phillips and freshman Tim Rumas (18.69), and junior Alex Hill in the hammer throw (16.35).
Angelo State continues to be the top-ranked men's team in D-II with 204.97 points, followed by Texas A&M-Commerce (178.19) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (171.71).
On the women's side, Ashland has 81.58 computer points, and leading the way are the throwing trio of redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker in the shot put (24.22), and seniors Mackenzie Leigh (22.23) and Natalie Helenthal (14.49) in the hammer throw.
The top three teams in the D-II women's rankings are Grand Valley State (236.30 points), Lincoln, Mo. (195.77 points) and Adams State (187.94 points).
