Hours before they play at home in the 2018 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament championship game, three Ashland University women's basketball players were named among the best in the region by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
On Monday (March 12) morning, the D2CCA All-Midwest Region team was released, and sophomore guard Jodi Johnson was named the region's Player of the Year, while Johnson and senior forwards Laina Snyder and Andi Daugherty all earned spots on the region's first team.
Johnson joins Snyder (2016-17) and current Ashland associate head coach Kari (Daugherty) Pickens (2011-12 and 2012-13) as Ashland Daktronics/D2CCA region Player of the Year.
