Former Ashland University women's basketball head coach Robyn Fralick has been named the Columbus Dispatch Ohio Women's Basketball Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season.

In 2017-18, Fralick guided the Eagles to a 36-1 record, an NCAA Division II national runner-up finish, and Midwest Regional, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament and GLIAC regular-season championships. During the run to the national title game, Ashland ran its winning streak to 73 games, the fifth-longest in the history of NCAA basketball, at any level and for either gender.

Also this past season, Fralick was named Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II National Coach of the Year for the second time, and the GLIAC Coach of the Year for the third time.

The Columbus Dispatch Ohio Women's Basketball Coach of the Year award is voted on by coaches around the state. Another former Eagle head coach, Sue Ramsey, earned the honor in both 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Fralick, 104-3 (.972) with a national championship in three seasons as Ashland head coach, was named the head women's basketball coach at NCAA Division I Bowling Green on April 3.
