Ashland University's women's basketball team's record-breaking 2017-18 season resulted in so much hardware that it took two boxes to deliver it all.

The Eagle women recently received 10 NCAA Division II statistical-leader plaques, for the following categories in which they led the country, both as a team and individually:

- Won-lost percentage. This is the fourth time in seven seasons, and the second year in a row, Ashland has led Division II in this statistic. At 36-1, the Eagles were the only D-II women's hoops team with just one defeat in 2017-18.

- Scoring offense. The most potent offense in NCAA women's basketball history, regardless of division, scored 3,644 points, and averaged 98.5 points per contest, just shy of the NCAA all-divisions record.

- Assists per game. Ashland averaged 24.0 assists per game, leading the nation by nearly four per game (second-place Carson-Newman had 20.1 apg.).

- Field-goal percentage. For the second straight season, and the fourth time since 2006, the Eagles led the country in field-goal percentage (50.8).

- 3-point field-goal percentage. The Eagles hit 39.5 percent from beyond the arc, leading the nation in that statistic for the second time in four years.

- Assist-to-turnover ratio. At 1.57-to-1, Ashland's ratio was nearly a tenth better than second-place Augustana (1.49-to-1).

- Scoring margin. Ashland won games by an average of 33.6 points in 2017-18. It is the second season in a row, and third in the last six, that the Eagles led D-II in this category.

- Steals per game. The Eagles recorded 16.1 steals per outing, and 597 steals overall – 86 more than second-place Glenville State.

- Turnover margin. By the narrowest of margins (12.22 to Glenville State's 12.21), Ashland led the country in difference between theirs and their opponents' turnovers per contest.

- Jodi Johnson, steals per game. The sophomore guard averaged 3.73 steals per contest, making her the third Eagle to lead D-II in a national statistical category, along with Kelsey Peare (3-point field-goal percentage in 2016-17) and Johnson's head coach, Kari (Daugherty) Pickens (rebounding average in 2011-12).

In 2017-18, Ashland's women's basketball team was 36-1 overall and 20-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles were the NCAA Division II runner-up, and winners of GLIAC regular-season, GLIAC Tournament and Midwest Regional tournament championships. In the last seven seasons, Ashland has two national titles, two national finalist finishes, and an overall record of 217-24 (.900).
