Johnson Lands GLIAC South Player Of The Week Honor

For the first time in 2018-19, and the ninth time in her collegiate career, Ashland University junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week.

In a 93-51 win at Walsh on Wednesday (Nov. 14) night, Johnson's game-high 25 points gave her 1,209 in her AU career, and moved her into 14th place on the program's all-time scoring list. She was 8-of-9 from the field, 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and 6-of-6 from the foul line, and added six rebounds and five assists.

Johnson leads the GLIAC in the early-season going at 25.0 points per game and with a 70.3 field-goal percentage, is fifth in the conference in free-throw percentage (90.5), is tied for sixth in the GLIAC in assists per game (3.7), and is tied for 10th in the league in rebounds per game (7.0) and steals per game (1.7).

The No. 2-ranked Eagles (3-0) will play host to the 2018 Ashland University Thanksgiving Tournament, Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 24-25) at Kates Gymnasium. Their games are Saturday at 3 p.m. vs. Missouri S&T and Sunday at 3 p.m. vs. Slippery Rock.
