Eagle Women Stay At No. 8 In WBCA Coaches’ Poll

For the second week in a row, Ashland University's women's basketball team is ranked No. 8 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

The Eagles are 9-1 going into their final two games of the 2018 calendar year – Wednesday (Dec. 19) at 5 p.m. at Indianapolis (6-3), and Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at Southern Indiana (8-1).

All-time as a ranked team in the D-II coaches' poll, Ashland is 179-13 (.932). The Eagles continue to have the longest active streak of D-II polls in the top 10 at 52, and all-time in the coaches' poll – preseason, regular season and postseason – AU has been in the top 25 92 times, and in the top 10 76 times.

Spots 1-12 in the WBCA poll remain unchanged. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference boasts two teams in the poll – Ashland and No. 11 Grand Valley State.

2018-19 WBCA POLL RANKINGS: No. 2 (preseason and Nov. 20), No. 1 (Nov. 27 and Dec. 4), No. 8 (Dec. 11 and Dec. 18).
