There was an early Christmas present awaiting Ashland University junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson on Thursday (Dec. 20) afternoon.

As announced by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Johnson has earned the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week award for the third time in 2018-19, and the 11th time in her Eagle career. In wins over Notre Dame College on Monday (Dec. 17) at home and at Indianapolis on Wednesday (Dec. 19) for the No. 8-ranked Eagles, Johnson posted 43 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, 10 steals and two blocks, while making 19-of-28 from the field and 3-of-7 from 3-point range.

Against the Falcons, Johnson nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals.

Johnson leads the GLIAC in scoring at 20.2 points per game, is second in the conference in field-goal percentage at 65.0, is third in free-throw percentage at 85.5 and steals per game at 2.7, is eighth in 3-point field-goal percentage at 42.9, and is 10th in rebounds per game at 7.1.

This is the fourth GLIAC South honor for an Ashland player this season, as junior forward Sara Loomis garnered the award on Nov. 26.

The Eagles (10-1) will play on Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at Southern Indiana (8-2).
