For the 12th time as an Eagle and the fourth time this season, Ashland University junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week.

As announced by the GLIAC on Monday (Jan. 28) afternoon, Johnson's latest honor comes following a game on Saturday (Jan. 26) at Wayne State in which she collected 28 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists in the 84-65 win. Johnson made 10-of-16 from the field and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line in the victory.

With 1,468 career points, Johnson is 18 away from passing Vickie Schmitz (1,485 points) for sixth place on Ashland's all-time scoring list.

Johnson leads the GLIAC in both scoring (19.6 ppg.), field-goal percentage (64.9) and steals per game (2.9), is sixth in 3-point field-goal percentage (41.1), fourth in free-throw percentage (85.9) and ninth in rebounds (6.8 rpg.).

In 11 weeks, Ashland's No. 5-ranked women's basketball team has earned seven GLIAC South Player of the Week – Johnson in Weeks 2, 4, 7 and 11, junior forward Sara Loomis in Weeks 3 and 10, and junior guard Renee Stimpert in Week 9.

Ashland is 18-1 overall and 10-1 in the GLIAC, and is tied for the overall conference lead.
