It's now a baker's dozen's-worth of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week awards for Ashland University junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson.

As announced by the GLIAC on Monday (Feb. 25) afternoon, Johnson has landed her fifth GLIAC South honor of the season, and the 13th of her Eagle career. Johnson had another stat-sheet-stuffing week for the No. 10-ranked Eagles in wins at Northwood and Saginaw Valley State last week, averaging 21.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game, and making 63.6 percent from the field and 92.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Heading into the final regular-season game of 2018-19 on Thursday (Feb. 28) at 5:30 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium vs. Wayne State, Johnson ranks first in the conference in field-goal percentage (60.5), free-throw percentage (tied, 87.5) and steals per game (tied, 2.6), second in scoring (18.5 ppg.), third in minutes played per game (33.2), tied for eighth in assists per game (3.3), and tied for ninth in rebounding (7.2 rpg.).

This is Ashland women's basketball's eighth GLIAC South Player of the Week honor this season – Johnson in Weeks 2, 4, 7, 11 and 15; junior forward Sara Loomis in Weeks 3 and 10; and junior guard Renee Stimpert in Week 9.

Ashland is 25-2 overall and 17-2 in the GLIAC going into Thursday night's regular-season finale with the Warriors (13-14, 8-11). The Eagles will play host to a GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal for the eighth straight season on March 5 at 5:30 p.m.
