Johnson Lands Third-Team Academic All-America Award

The list of Jodi Johnson's personal accolades has gotten longer once again.

Ashland University's junior guard/forward was named a third-team 2018-19 Google Cloud NCAA Division II Academic All-America on Tuesday (March 12) afternoon.

Through the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, Johnson is averaging 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game, and shooting 58.5 percent from the field, 34.0 percent from 3-point range and 87.6 percent from the free-throw line. Johnson is 12th in the country in field-goal percentage.

Johnson sports a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average as a Supply Chain Management major.

Since 1982-83, Ashland University's women's basketball program has nine Academic All-Americans. With 13 total Academic All-American awards, AU now is tied with Connecticut, Tennessee and Drake for the most all-time among women's basketball programs, regardless of division.

Google Cloud Academic All-American teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
