The No. 4-ranked Ashland University women's basketball team (29-2) will open Midwest Regional play in Springfield, Mo., on Friday (March) 15 at 9:30 p.m. (8:30 p.m. Central) against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Northern Michigan (22-9).
This will be the second time in less than a week that the Eagles and Wildcats face off - AU won the GLIAC Tournament title over NMU, 65-58, on Sunday (March 10) at Grand Valley State.
Ashland won the NCAA Division II national championship in both 2013 and 2017, and was the national runner-up in both 2012 and 2018. The Eagles have an all-time postseason record of 26-6. That .813 winning percentage is the best in D-II history among programs with at least 25 games played.
