On the eve of the start of the 2019 NCAA Division II women's basketball Midwest Regional at Drury, a pair of Ashland University players earned All-Midwest Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).

Junior guard/forward Jodi Johnson and junior forward Sara Loomis were named to the D2CCA All-Midwest Region first and second team, respectively, on Thursday (March 14), prior to the No. 4-ranked Eagles' (29-2) regional opener on Friday (March 15) at 9:30 p.m. East/8:30 p.m. Central vs. Northern Michigan (22-9) in Springfield, Mo.

Johnson, who was the D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year and first-team all-region a season ago, is averaging 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game this season, while making 58.5 percent from the floor, 34.0 percent from 3-point range, and 87.6 percent from the free-throw line.
