One week down, and one Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week honor earned for Ashland University's women's basketball team.

Senior forward Sara Loomis picked up to start 2019-20 where she left off in 2018-19, averaging 22.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game while shooting 62.1 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from 3-point range in two neutral-site wins against Cedarville on Friday (Nov. 8) and vs. Ohio Dominican on Saturday (Nov. 9).

In a 103-83 win over Panthers, Loomis became the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 career points. She had 19 points and 16 rebounds and was 7-of-14 from the field in 22 minutes against ODU, after beginning the year with 26 points and 12 boards, and hitting 11-of-15 from the field and 3-of-4 from 3-point range, in 26 minutes against the Yellow Jackets.

Loomis leads the GLIAC after one week in both points and rebounds per game.

This is Loomis' third career GLIAC South Player of the Week honor, following two last season.

No. 8-ranked Ashland (2-0) will open the home portion of the 2019-20 season on Thursday (Nov. 14) at 5:30 p.m. vs. Findlay (2-0).
