Thanks to a 24-point, six-assist and razor-sharp shooting effort at home vs. Findlay on Thursday (Nov. 14) night, Ashland University senior guard Jodi Johnson has earned her first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week award of the season, and the 14th of her Eagle career.

In the 108-59 win over the Oilers at Kates Gymnasium, Johnson posted 24 points, six assists and two steals, while making 9-of-10 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from 3-point range, in just 25 minutes of action.

The first three games of the 2019-20 season have seen Johnson average 15.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while hitting 45.7 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from 3-point range and 70 percent from the free-throw line.

Johnson has now scored 1,720 career points – good for fourth place on Ashland's all-time scoring list.

This is Ashland's second GLIAC South Player of the Week award in the first two weeks of the 2019-20 season, along with senior forward Sara Loomis in Week 1.

No. 8-ranked Ashland (3-0) will play the second game of a three-game homestand on Thursday (Nov. 21) at 5:30 p.m. vs. Lewis (2-2).
