Ashland Women Move Up To No. 7 In WBCA Poll

In the first regular-season ranking of 2019-20, Ashland University's women's basketball team has moved up one spot to No. 7 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday (Nov. 19) afternoon.

The Eagles have started the season at 3-0 following in-region victories against Cedarville (97-83), Ohio Dominican (103-83) and Findlay (108-59). Ashland will play the second game of a three-game homestand on Thursday (Nov. 21) at 5:30 p.m. vs. Lewis (2-2).

Tuesday's poll marks the 71st consecutive time Ashland has been in the WBCA Top 25. All-time as a Top-25 team in the coaches' poll, Ashland is 202-15 (.931).

Ashland is joined in the latest Top 25 poll by fellow Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team Grand Valley State (No. 3). Three of the top seven teams in the country reside in the Midwest Region – No. 1 Drury, No. 3 GVSU and No. 7 Ashland.

2019-20 WBCA RANKINGS: No. 8 (preseason), No. 7 (Nov. 19).
